The facade of the newly created National Art Center is a bold wave of glass. The museum is over 48 thousand square meters in size, making it the largest in Japan.

The musuem has 12 exhibition rooms for various art shows, a restaurant, three cafes, an auditorium, lecture rooms and an art library.

The art center is located in Roppongi away from the other major museums in the Ueno district. Roppongi is more well known as being a night life area, but with the recent developments like Roppongi Hills, the area is becoming more upmarket.
