Shinjuku is a city within a city, with a bar and nightclub culture to match. On the west side of the city, most of the bars are located within hotels, many with fantastic views of the city. On the east side, especially in the Kabukicho district, the red light district of Tokyo, your options are almost endless. Kabukicho does have some good bars and places to hang out, even if they are inter-mixed with hostess bars and strip clubs.
