Omotesando Hills Opens in Tokyo

A new development by Mori developments opened this weekend in Tokyo. Over 1000 people lined out the front to be the first ones to visit the new retail and apartment complex.

I took some pictures on Saturday and uploaded them here.

I will try to get some more pictures of the interior when it is a little less crowded.

New Store Opens in Tokyo’s “book town”

Bookhouse Jinbocho opened just last month in Jimbocho, Tokyo’s largest concentration of book stores.

Tokyo Flea Markets

Flea markets have became popular in Japan after the bubble economy burst in the late 80′s.

Yodobashi – Akihabara

I had a quick look in the new Yodobashi Akihabara store and was pretty impressed.

It should now be the biggest electronic store in Tokyo, if not Asia.

However, you can’t help feeling a kind of loss for the area, as it has changed immensley.

All the changes have changed the atmosphere from discount computer part stores for computer geeks to hang out at, to a kind of clean shopping mall kind of experience. It’s not quite that way yet, but that is definitely the direction it is heading.
