Is Tokyo really that expensive?
A Reuters article asks is Tokyo really that expensive compared to other cities such as London and New York.
I have kind of had this impression for a while. Japan has seen years of depreciation and there are always some good bargains around if you go looking for them.
The surveys which the English press usually use for their articles include such things as international education and furnished apartments – two things that are very expensive in Tokyo.
Try not to be too alarmed when you see these reports, if you have been to London or New York, Tokyo won’t be much of a surprise.
