Sayuri premiere

The international premiere of the new movie “Sayuri” was just held in Tokyo. The movie is based on the best selling book, “Memoirs Of A Geisha”.

Hainan Jeefan Shokudo

I went to this restaurant last night in Azabu Juban. It is a very popular place. We managed to get a table on the terrace. The curry, Chinese brocolli and rotti were are all great.

Naoko Takahashi wins Tokyo women’s marathon

The Tokyo Women’s marathon is being held today. Naoko Takahashi, the gold medalist at the 2000 Sydney Olympics will be running.

Akihabara promoted as tourist destination

This article says Akihabara is being promoted as international tourist destination for electronic and scientific buffs.

“The area, known to frequent visitors as Akiba, could also be a “spiritual hometown” for science-minded people around the world, said Kenichiro Senoo, heading a new organization launched to promote it.”

Sin City Bar Opens in Aoyama

In conjunction with the release of Frank Miller’s new movie Sin City, a Sin City theme bar has been opened in Aoyama.

It has a mixed menu with pasta dishes available for around 1,300 yen.

It is open until December this year.

New Store Opens in Tokyo’s “book town”

Bookhouse Jinbocho opened just last month in Jimbocho, Tokyo’s largest concentration of book stores.
