Amusement Parks

During the boom years in the eighties many large companies built vairous amusement parks to capitalize on Japan's expanding leisure industry. Some of the parks have closed down, but some have continued to expand. Serveral parks also have massive swimming pools which open in summer.

Fujikyu Highland

Fujikyu highland is located near Mount Fuji. It once had the record for highest roller coaster. The "Dodonpa" coaster travels at speeds over 100 mph and has vertical drops. During winter the park also has ice-skating.

Laqua

This park features the amazing "Big O" the world's first centre-less ferris wheel and is conveniently located near Suidobashi in the centre of Tokyo.
